Active Sewer Line Infiltration from Creek
Challenge:A local mid size municipality located a significant water infiltration from a creek into an active 24 inch sewer line. The problem was compounded by the fact that the problem lies buried directly under a gabion wall along the creek. A traditional repair using excavation methods was going to prove to be very costly and time consuming. In addition, geographically the access points were separated by the creek and green belt and also within a limited access easement. Furthermore, the matter was complicated by the active flow continually monitored in the sewer line. This would require a “by-pass” of the active line flow in order to facilitate the repair.
Solution:Pipepatch “No Dig Pipe Repair” – Kleen Pipe, in conjunction with the city, partnered to complete the repair over the course of about two days. The city installed and managed a mandatory “by-pass” of the damaged sewer line in order to allow Kleen Pipe clear and proper access to install a 24 inch pipe repair. Kleen Pipe overcame logistic issues surrounding the distance and limited access of the entry points. The result was huge success and assured our client of a solidly reinforced sewer line and properly sealed off infiltration.
